Why are your propeller and blade prices so much less than the other composite airboat propellers currently on the market?
Answer: We get this question a lot. There are many reasons, but the main reason is we are very efficient at what we do. The efficiency stems from intelligent engineering, state-of-the-art tooling and continually refining the process. We manufacture 100% of the propellers in-house with no outsourcing of parts.
Will more propeller RPM always give me more performance?
Answer: All propellers have a maximum RPM for maximum efficiency (thrust). This max rpm is always dependent on propeller diameter. More prop RPM will not give you more performance like you might think. Sure it makes a lot more noise, but you’re not getting anything for it.
No appreciable performance gain
More noise (dB)
Shorter propeller life due to increased impact damage
More wear on your engine
Increased fuel burn
What should I do to keep the propeller noise as low as possible?
Answer: Keeping the propeller RPM as low as practical will always lower the noise of the propeller. Whirlwind does have propellers blades specifically designed for low noise operation, check with us for your application.
